The Canton of Humalasalo invites one and all to celebrate the investiture of Aarnimetsä's new Baron and Baroness. Fencers, heavy fighters, and archers will have the opportunity to display their prowess in tournaments and competitions organised in honour of the new baronial couple. Likewise, artisans and scholars skilled in arts and sciences may exhibit their skills in a competition. Culinary feats will be sampled in a Roman feast on Saturday evening.
Site:
Kiljava Camping Centre (no street address) in Rajamäki, about 50 km
north of Helsinki. You can get there by bus from Helsinki; the nearest
bus stop is about 1.6 km from the site. Contact the event steward for
more information on how to get to the site. There are showers (with
warm water) and a sauna on the site.
The site opens at 6 p.m. on Friday, August 26, and closes at 12 p.m.
on Sunday, August 28. Anyone on the site before opening time or after
closing time will be considered voluntary work force.
Site rules:
The site is "damp". Smoking is only permitted at designated areas.
Those sleeping in beds must bring their own sheets, even when sleeping
in a sleeping bag. Open fires are allowed at designated places.
Should there be a forest fire warning, other fires (such as torches,
candles on the ground etc.) will not be permitted.
Reservations:
Reservations should be made through
the reservation form.
Fees:
Site fee is 14 euros for members of SCA or SKA, 17 euros for others.
The meal plan (breakfasts, Friday evening snack, Saturday lunch)
is 6.50 euros and the feast is 8.50 euros. Thus, the entire event
costs 29 euros for SCA/SKA members and 32 euros for non-members.
Late fee of 6 euros applies to all reservations made after 7th August.
Paying:
Foreign guests may pay at the door. Finnish residents must pay their
fees to
Hämeen keskiaikaseura's account 568000-4268274
on 7th August at the latest in order to avoid the late fee. Please
remember to mention who is paying for what.
Cancellation policy:
If you cancel by 7th August, we'll return all your money. If you cancel
between 8th and 14th August, you will get your food money back. If you
cancel after 14th August, we may not be able to reimburse you at all.
If you have a reservation and neither cancel nor come to the event,
we will charge you all costs including the late fee of 6 euros and
a handling fee of 3 euros.
