The Canton of Humalasalo invites one and all to celebrate the investiture of the new Baron and Baroness of Aarnimetsä. Fencers, heavy fighters and archers will have the opportunity to display their prowess in tournaments and competitions organised in honour of the new baronial couple. Likewise, those skilled in arts and sciences may exhibit their skills in a competition. Culinary feats will be sampled in feast on Saturday evening. The 15th anniversary of the barony will also be celebrated at this event in many ways.
Venue: Kiljava Scout Camp, Vihtilammintie 45, 05200 Rajamäki, about 50 km north of Helsinki. You can get there by bus from Helsinki; the nearest bus stop is 1.6 km from the site. Pickups from Helsinki international airport may be provided at an extra cost. Contact the event steward for more information on how to get to the site. There are indoor toilets, warm showers and a sauna on the site.
Rules: The site is "damp". Smoking is only allowed at certain designated areas. Those sleeping in beds must bring their own sheets (even if you bring your sleeping bag). Open fires are allowed at designated places. Should there be a forest fire warning, other fires such as torches will not be permitted.
Reservations: Reservations should be made using an electronic form, which will be available from July 1, 2009. Note that the form must be filled in for each participant separately.
Fees: Site fee 17 EUR for SCA/SKA members; 20 EUR for others. The meal plan (breakfasts, Friday evening snack, and Saturday lunch) is 7 EUR and the feast 10 EUR. Thus, the entire event costs 34 EUR for members and 37 EUR for non-members. For residents of Aarnimetsä there is a late fee of 7 EUR. Foreign guests may pay at the door without a late fee if registered by August 30.
No site fee for children between 0 to 3 if no bed place is needed
Children from 4 to 7 years should be half of site fee. They could eat freely if parents has reserved meals.
Children 8-13 years should pay full site price but only half of fees from meals.
Older than 13 years should pay full prices.
Children's price for child under 14-years is calculated from parents fee: if parent is member then half of the members price.
Finnish residents should pay to the account of Hämeen Keskiaikaseura 568000-4268274 on August 30 at the latest. Please remember to mention who is paying for what.
Cancellation policy: Those cancelling by August 30 will be fully reimbursed. Those cancelling between August 31 and September 7 will get their meals reimbursed. If you cancel after September 7, we may not be able to reimburse you at all. Those who have not cancelled but do not show up will be charged the event price plus the late fee and a handling fee of 3 EUR.
