How to get there

Instructions

By car:

The easiest way to get to the site by car is to take the Porintie to Häijää from Tampere. After Häijää turn from the traffic roundabout to Vammala and drive about 7 kilometers, after which turn to the left to Karkku. From here it isn't a long way until Karkku's center from where you turn to the right (when you arrive to this junction you should see right before you a sign for a memorial site which points to the right and actually to our site too). From this junction it is only two kilometers to the campsite of Sorja - Sorja is to the left of this road. The way to Sorja is quite well guided, but the signs don't read "Sorjan leirikeskus" - they will guide you to a war memorial which is in Sorja's yard.

By train or bus:

You can get to Karkku also by train (straight from Tampere and Pori). The railway station isn't very far away from the camp site. Pick-ups from the railway station can be arranged as long as we know who need a pick-up from the station and when. You can get to Karkku easily by bus from Turku, but you have to change busses in Vammala (this trip takes about two hours). When coming from Helsinki it would be best to come by train, which is much faster than the bus for it's shorter route.

If coming from the Tampere-Pirkkala airport, you have to first take a bus to Tampere's center from the airport and then a train to Karkku.
